Honeymoon in St. Lucia

We had an absolutely amazing honeymoon in St. Lucia! We stayed at "The Landings" and when we arrived to check in they told us that we had been upgraded to a 2 bed/ 3 bath BEACHFRONT Villa. Rodney's cousin, Kyle, works for Rock Resorts and got us the room upgrade! We spent the first day catching up on sleep and relaxing at the beach. Tuesday Rod played golf while I spent the entire day at the Beach, reading my book and floating in the ocean! I must have stayed out a little too long because I got the worst Sunburn I have ever experienced, and to make matters worse it was on my back side. On Wednesday I woke up in so much pain, but told myself to suck it up, so that I didn't ruin our 12 hour excursion we had planned for the day(from this point on I always had on a t-shirt and capris so that it wouldn't get any worse). We took a jeep through the rainforest to visit the waterfalls, Botanical gardens, Drive in Volcano, and a Plantation for Lunch. We then boarded a Catamaran and got to see the Amazing Pitons and Marigot Bay and got to snorkel for a little bit. It was a very long day! I was in so much pain and Rod wasn't feeling great, so when we got back to the condo we ordered good ole Domino's pizza to be delivered.

On Thursday we spent the day at the beach, we took out the Kayak and the sailboat. As we were waiting on the sailboat we were talking to a guest at the hotel that said his wife wouldn't go out on the sailboat because she saw a rescue boat have to go out and save some people who had tipped the boat over. That should have been my first clue to stay on land, but I figured Rod knew what he was doing so we headed out. Rod insisted that I bring the camera so I could take some pics from the water. All is good, and then I hear Rod say "Oh S**t!" He then proceeds to tell me that he thinks he busted the sail. I then look out to see just how far we are from the shore and then begin to panic. No one would have a clue that we were missing cause we were so far out. The sail ended up being fine, but I told Rod that I was ready to head in(Rescue boat was ringing in my ears) We started to head in, I had no idea that it would take 45 minutes to get back, all the while my camera is getting soaked and I just want to be back on LAND!! That was our eventful day! I will never go sailing again :)

Friday was our last day and we went on a zip line tour that morning. We had a 30 minute gondola ride up into the rainforest and then hiked to our first platform and did about 12 zip lines. We had so much fun, there was another tour that was a little bit harder and I want to try that next time! We spent Friday afternoon hanging out and then headed into Rodney Bay for dinner to eat at the Big Chef Steakhouse! It was delicious!

Saturday was a very long trip home, Rod wasn't feeling good at all! We had to take an hour and a half cab ride to the airport. We then had to wait almost 3 hours to board our plane and that airport didn't really believe in Air Conditioning! On that first flight Rod was having major problems with his ears popping( or not popping to be exact). He was in a lot of pain for the 2nd flight, but we finally made it home at 2 am!

Rod went to the doctor after we got back and found out that he had 2 collapsed ear drums, and ear infection, and a sinus infection. Poor thing!

We had so much fun and are glad that all of the wedding planning is over!
