9 months.....how can it be??

Well I mentioned in our 8 month post that we didn't have too many milestones.....well she saved them all up for this 9 month post!!

We have a crawler!!!! Shortly after turning 8 months Addy started crawling and never looked back. The day of her 8 month birthday at her physical therapy session her therapist predicted that she would be crawling within the next week. And sure enough about 6 days later she took her first little crawl :) It took her about a week to 10 days to really figure it out, but she did and hasn't slowed down one bit! About a week after really figuring out the crawling she began pulling up. She has only figured out how to get to her knees, but I am sure she will be standing in no time!!

Addison also debuted 2 new pearly whites this month!! Those long awaited first two bottom teeth finally came in while we were in Dallas. She had some fussy moments, but it could have been due to the fact that we cart that baby girl everywhere when we are in Dallas. Places to go and people to see, and poor girl rarely gets a good nap for the 5 days we are there.

She's really started to like the Puffs, and we tried some yogurt melts the other day too! She still has a hard time getting things from her fingers to her mouth, but she is getting better!

She is starting to give big open-mouth, slobbery kisses! She loves to play with her hair and rub her head  during her bottles. She also started making this adorable clicking sound.! She is into everything!!!! She still freaks out when I leave the room, which makes for me not able to get much done around here, unless she is napping.

She weighed in at 16lbs 9 oz and was 27.5 inches long at her 9 month check up. She was in the 20th percentile for weight and the 75th for height. We started feeding her every 4 hours this month, because she wasn't seeming as hungry and was playing with her bottles towards the end. She is getting 7 oz at 8 am, 12 pm, 4 pm, and 8 pm. She is also getting 1-2 servings of baby food a day. She tried some meats this month and one of my favorites...macaroni and cheese!!! She doesn't get too enthusiastic about eating, but she finishes all of it most of the time.

She is in 9 month clothing and we have finally started wearing shoes more often, but she has the tiniest feet ever, she is in a size 1 (0-3 months). It's crazy how small they are. She is in size 3 diapers!

She is learning to wave and clap. It's pretty cute because a lot of the time she does them both together. She starts off with a wave and then immediately goes into clapping. She is so fun at this age!

Still no mama or dada's yet, but we are waiting patiently :) She is really fixated on the "g" sound, but the pediatrician didn't seem to worried. She just wants to have one word (other than mama or dada) by the time she is a year (or 13 months for her adjusted age)

Can't wait to see what this next month holds!!

8 months

Time is just going by faster everyday it seems! Our little diva has quite the temper at times, especially when you take her out of the bath tub (she can play in there for hours) and when you take her "toys" away. I use the term toys, but really it could be anything....a grocery sack, hanger, cell phone, remote, chip bag.....why do we even buy toys???

Just after turning seven months Addy really got into getting on all fours and rocking, but hasn't quite mastered the crawling yet. She does somewhat of an army crawl or rolls to get to what she wants. As much as I am ready for it, I know once it happens things will have to change in our house and I will wish she wasn't already crawling.

She has tried lots of food this month....Sweet Potatoes, Green beans, Squash, Carrots (and I'm sure there are others, but I can barely remember what she ate yesterday let alone a month ago). I gave her a few Puffs the other day, but she didn't seem to interested. She had a hard time getting them in her mouth. They were in her palm and she tried to stick her whole fist in her mouth. Maybe in a few weeks they will be more exciting.

Not many big firsts this month. We did make a trip to Dallas to see the fam, and my mom came up for a few days to see us. She did attend her first wedding reception and made it till 9:30 before she passed out.

She's still doing great with therapy, and is progressing well!

She is definitely not a happy camper when she is left alone. She sees you walk out, immediately boo-hoos and then you walk back in and she starts laughing. This child is spoiled I tell ya!

She goes down between 7-8 most night and wakes up about 7:00 or 7:30.  She normally takes about a 1.5-2 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap. Taking 6 ounces at each bottle(lately has started playing with her bottle towards the end and is such a wiggle worm) She is still in 3-6 month clothes, but is definitely ready to move up to 6-9 months....Mommy is trying hard to keep her in these summer clothes since most of what she has in 9 months is Fallish and its still to warm for those. Moving her up to size 3 diapers once we run out of these last few 2's!

I am guessing she is right around 16.5 pounds or so!

7 months and as happy as can be!!!

Lots of milestones this month...

Our baby girl learned to sit up this month!! Shortly after turning 6 months old she started sitting up on her own. She started with sitting up for a few seconds at a time, but by the end of the month she could sit for minutes on her own!! She is loving this whole new view of the world.

She took her first plane ride to Dallas and did awesome. The hardest part about flying with a baby is lugging everything around. Since I was flying without Rodney's help I was a little worried, but they allowed my mom to go through security with me, which was a huge help.

Addison took her first trip to the lake. We went to PK for our annual Leon Family Reunion. The life jacket was no fun, so she spent most of her time in the house or in her baby pool. She was an angel all weekend and everyone commented on the fact that she didn't even cry the whole time we were there. As long as she has someone to play with her and entertain her she is happy, and there were plenty of people at the lake to fulfill that job!!

She really started doing well with rice cereal and oatmeal so we transitioned her to fruits this month. So far she has tried Pears, Apples, Peaches, and Bananas! She really seems to like Pears and Bananas the most, and liked the Peaches the least. She is taking 5 ounces at every bottle.

She is sleeping so well at night, even on trips to Dallas sleeping in the pack and play. She is going to bed at 8:00 most nights and sleeps until 7:00am. She wakes up and talks to herself for at least 30 minutes and never cries.

She is still wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing, but in PJ'S we have moved her up to 6-9 months only for length. She is definitely long and lean!!

She has continued with therapy twice a week and her therapist has talked about how much progress she made this month!!! She is getting much stronger and her tilt is less apparent. The big thing that this therapist mentioned(her therapist in Dallas never did) was that she tends to keep her right shoulder up.....this picture captures it perfectly....

She does better at some times, and then does worse at others. It mostly depends on whether or not she is tired. However, she has tolerated her therapy very well and rarely cries.

She is such a happy baby!!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Addison Faith!!

Our baby girl is 1/2 year old!!! We were in Ruidoso, New Mexico on her half Birthday and were still in the process of getting moved so we were a couple weeks late in taking her 6 month pics, but here are a few...

She has changed so much in the past month.....The big thing being that she is reaching for EVERYTHING!!! You really have to watch her, she was in my lap at dinner one night and was going after my shrimp!! She is also rolling all over the place. I will lay her down on one side of the living room floor and when I come back into the room a couple of minutes later she will be on the opposite side of the room!!

We had a very busy and chaotic month since we moved!!! Yes, we made a big move to West Texas. Rodney will be farming with his Dad and I will officially be a full-time stay at home mom!! So excited for this new chapter, but so sad to leave so many family and friends. We moved on June 21st, and stayed with the in-laws while we had some work done on our new house and then headed to New Mexico for a long weekend.

At Addison's 6 month check up with the Pediatrician she weighed in at 14 lbs 3 oz and was 26 inches long. 10th percentile for weight at 50th percentile for length. Doctor thinks she is doing great. She is sleeping about 10-11 hours at night. Normally going to bed between 8:00-9:00 and waking up about 7:00. She is taking 5 ounces at each feeding about every 2.5-3 hours. She is in 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers.

She got her helmet off right after she turned 5 months, and it has been so nice not to mess with it anymore. I am so glad she wasn't in it in the middle of the summer. She outgrew her helmet a little sooner than expected and they said her head was still not "perfect". We could have done another helmet but with the move we decided against it. It definitely looks much better than it did. We also have a new physical therapist out in Lubbock that we LOVE!! She has shed new light and ideas on helping to improve her torticollis. She suggested having Addison come for physical therapy twice a week and wants her to continue until she is walking.

Big milestones for this month include: the big move to West Texas, getting her helmet off, her first(and very quick) vacation to Ruidoso, New Mexico.

We just can't get enough of her! She is truly the light of our lives!!

5 months!!

Where is the time going?!?! Our baby girl just recently celebrated her 5 month birthday on May 29th. She has changed so much in the past month. She has really started "talking" and will just sit in her swing chit-chatting away with herself. She also started playing in her jumparoo this month and has started to figure out how to press buttons and make things happen.

She is sleeping great, at least nine hours at night during the week and 10-11 on weekends. She puts herself to sleep for a nap pretty easily, which is awesome! We transitioned to swaddling her with her arms free, which she loves. She likes to be on her side or tummy now when she sleeps, and is rarely on her back.

She tried rice cereal this month and is doing pretty well now. At first, she didn't get it but after a few weeks she has shown improvement every time. Not too long and we will start adding in some fruits and veggies :) She takes 4 ounces every 2.5-3 hours and takes 5 at her nighttime bottle. Doctor was very cautious about moving her up to 5 at a feeding because of her reflux, plus she is still on the small side for her age.

She spent all month in her latest fashion accessory......THE HELMET :) I was so worried about how she would adjust but she did great! She had a couple of rough nights sleeping at first, but it didn't really seem to phase her after that. It was weird seeing her in it at first, but now it's weird to see her without it!! However, we are anxious for it to be gone so we can go back to wearing BOWS again!!

Her Physical Therapist said she is doing great and progressing with her torticollis. She mentioned that she might need therapy for just a few more months. We have really been working on sitting up, but she just hasn't mastered it quite yet. I think she definitely is about a month behind with most of her milestones, which is completely normal since she was a month early. She did roll over just about a week after her 4 month birthday and of course- she rolled over from her back to her tummy first, opposite of what most do!

She really loves to be outside and watch the leaves blowing in the wind. She also loves bath time much more than she used to. She is pretty laid back and we take her just about anywhere!

It is so fun to see how much she changes from week to week! Here is her 5 month pic....

We're BACK!!!!

School is out and I am officially a stay at home mom!!! I hope to get back to blogging more often, but something tells me that I will be just as busy and it will get put on the back burner! Addison spent two months at an in home daycare while I finished up the school year.

We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful babysitter named Megan, who is also getting into the photography business. She loves to take pics of her girls....lucky for us! Here are some of the wonderful pics she got while watching Addison in April and May.

3 & 4 months!

I was very sad to see that Addison's 3 month blog that I had started and never published somehow disappeared :( So I guess we will combine 3 & 4 months together!

Addison's 3rd month was my last month to stay home with her. We tried to get in as many lunches with family and friends, shopping trips, doctors appointments, play time, cuddle time, and nap time as we could. Addy met the Easter Bunny for the first time and had her picture taken with him. She became very social this month. She really started smiling that 3rd month and cooing back and forth with us! She began physical therapy this month and loves her physical therapist Miss Erin. It is only 30 minutes once a week and she does different stretches to help with her torticollis. She tolerates the therapy pretty well, until she gets tired and then she is DONE!!!

She just recently started laughing in the last few weeks and it is just the cutest thing ever. She really is a happy baby! Her babysitter, Megan, commented that she is just so content to sit and watch everything that is going on around her. Megan also said that we might be crazy to have another baby, cause there is no way that he/she would be as good as Addison. Yikes, the thought of another baby right now exhausts me anyways. Even though Addy is a great sleeper, I have become quite the opposite and every little sound now wakes me up, and I am no good at going right back to sleep. This has made for a few sleepy days at work. Addy now sleeps about 7-8 hours at night. We put her to bed at 9 or 9:30 and then I wake her up and feed her at 5:30am. After she takes her bottle she sits in the nap nanny while I get ready for work. On weekends she will go anywhere from 8-10 hours at night without waking.

She will be getting her helmet to fix the flat side of her head in a few days. We decided to go ahead and start the process a little bit earlier than most people do. The earlier you start the less time she has to be in the helmet. They are projecting about 6 weeks right now (more or less). She will wear it 23 hours a day only taking it off to bathe. We are very excited to get the process started and finished :) It requires weekly appointments to have the helmet re-shaped and luckily we were able to have afternoon appointments so that I don't have to miss any work.

She had her very first cold with a fever of 101. It happened after 4 days of daycare, but luckily it was on Good Friday and I was off work so I was able to stay home with her. The fever was gone and she was back to normal within a day or two. It is amazing how fast she is growing and how quickly time is flying. At her 4 month check up she weighed in at 11 pounds 7 ounces  and was 24 1/4 inches long! Here is her 4 month pic...

2 months old!!

Has it really been 2 months already?!?! Time is flying and the 2nd month kept us very busy!!! We had a lot of accomplishments and milestones this month.....

First things first....Addy's 2 month check up with her Pediatrician. We were excited to see that our "big" girl weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and she was 21 3/4 inches tall. She has finally made it off the "preemie" growth chart. Compared to other babies her age who were born at "term" she is in the 3rd percentile for weight and 25th percentile in height. On the preemie chart she was 25% for weight and 75% for height. We are excited to finally be out of newborn clothing :) and onto 0-3 months. Doctor said that she was absolutely perfect, except for one small thing that we need to work on. Dr. Lanman mentioned that Addy's left side of her head is becoming flatter than the right side. It seems that when Addy is on her back she is always turning her head to the left. They think she might have some muscle tightness/pain on the right side, which is why she is prefers the left. We have an appointment with a physical therapist next week for an evaluation and then we will know more! Hopefully this will help and prevent having to wear a "helmet" to re-shape her head down the road! Some pictures from her 2 month check up....

At just 5 weeks old we left our baby girl for an entire night!!! I had considered having my mom come and watch Addy so that Rodney and I could have a date night, but my mom begged and pleaded for her to come stay the night. Although I was really not ready for it, all I could think about was getting a night alone with my husband and a full 8 hours (or more) of uninterrupted sleep :) So, we packed her up and about 5:00 she was off with my mom and sister for a slumber party. Rodney and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Outback and then came straight home (even though I begged for him to run by my mom's so we could check on Addy :) I did not get the wonderful nights sleep that I had dreamed about, I guess my body had gotten used to waking up at 3am :( I did enjoy a wonderful date night with my sweet husband though!!

At 6 weeks old Addison made her first road trip to West Texas! She did awesome!!!! One the way there we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Jacksboro for a diaper change and a feeding and we were back on the road again for another 4 hours. She didn't make a peep until the last 10 minutes of the whole trip, which is totally acceptable since she was about an hour past her normal feeding time. She did just as great on the way home, only crying for the last 15-20 minutes! We had a great trip and Addy got to meet lots of her West Texas Family! While we were in Petersburg she got to experience another first.....her very first SNOW!! Even though we weren't able to go out and play it was nice to be able to put her cute little cap on and take a family picture :) My mother-in-law was wonderful and took care of Addy's night feedings for all 4 nights that we were there!! It was great to be able to catch up on our sleep! We even got to get in the hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine (or two, or three :)

Another big accomplishment in Addy's second month was moving to her crib!!! At 7 weeks we decided it was time (really about 5 weeks we were ready to move her, but with the sleepovers and road trips we thought it might be best to wait and not ruin any progress we might make with a change in her sleeping environment)  She did awesome....on her first night she slept for two 5 hour stretches!! And mommy only spent about 30 minutes staring at the video monitor before she went to sleep :)

We also had a wonderful baby shower at my new school and Addison got to attend! My shower had been planned for our first day back from Christmas break, but since she decided to come early it had to be postponed. We got more wonderful gifts and she got to meet all of my new co-workers.

We spent one afternoon at my old school so that she could meet the Weaver gang and I had so much fun visiting with all of my old co-workers, seeing all of my former students, and of course showing off our beautiful daughter!

We had many lunch dates this month with Daddy, Nana, Aunt B, Jolene, Ryan and Jennifer, and I am sure a few others!

Addy has changed so much in the last month......She is more alert than before and has really started to focus on people and objects. She loves the lights on her play mat and really loves the mobile over her crib. She has just recently started cooing in the last week or so, she will lay on her mat or in her crib and coo for hours. Just a couple of days ago she started blowing bubbles :) She has gotten really strong with her head and neck. Her favorite place to do tummy time is still on your tummy by far! We have also started spending time in the Bumbo
